Breakdown Recovery in Glasgow

Roadside breakdowns, safe collection and transport to a garage or home across Glasgow.

A breakdown can happen anywhere — a busy junction, a quiet side street, or the middle of your commute. Glasgow Recovery Help focuses on connecting drivers with local breakdown recovery support so a stranded vehicle can be collected safely and moved to where it needs to go.

We keep things honest during our launch phase: rather than promising an operator is minutes away, we help you get a request in front of local recovery support and are clear about what's available.

What this covers

Roadside breakdowns

Vehicles that have stopped at the roadside collected with safety in mind.

Safe collection

Careful loading and securing of your vehicle before it's moved.

Garage or home

Transport onward to a garage, your home, or another destination you choose.

Safety-led

Clear guidance to keep you safe while you wait for help.

If it's an emergency, call 999 first

If anyone is injured, if your vehicle is in a live traffic lane, or if there is any immediate danger, contact the emergency services before anything else. Your safety comes first.

If you've broken down or had an incident

  • Get yourself and passengers to a safe place, away from moving traffic where possible.
  • Switch on hazard lights and, if you have one and it's safe, place a warning triangle well behind the vehicle.
  • Wear a hi-vis vest if you have one, especially at night or in poor weather.

Frequently asked questions

What should I do the moment I break down?

Get to a safe place away from traffic, switch on your hazard lights, and if it's safe use a warning triangle. If you're in a dangerous position or anyone is hurt, call 999 before arranging recovery.

Can you recover me from a busy road?

Recovery from busy roads needs extra care and the right equipment. Describe exactly where you are in your request so the safest approach can be planned.

How long will I wait?

During launch we don't quote fixed response times because we won't promise something we can't yet guarantee. We'll always be upfront about what's realistic when you get in touch.

Can you recover a car with no keys, or one stuck in gear?

Situations like a lost key, a car left in gear, or a vehicle that can't be steered are common and usually workable with the right equipment. Describe exactly what's happening in your request so recovery arrives prepared.

My car is in a tight spot — a car park, alley or driveway. Is that a problem?

Awkward access — tight car parks, narrow lanes, low clearance or a blocked-in vehicle — can often still be handled, though it affects which equipment is needed. Note the access details and any restrictions in your request so it can be planned properly.
